This Bauhaus style cabinet was manufactured in 1937 by the Wschód Zadziele under license from Mücke Melder.
The cabinet is made of Karelian birch veneered plywood, the interior is veneered with oak. The leg is made of chromed tubular steel.
The cabinet has been restored – it is lacquered, finished in satin. The metal parts have been newly chrome-plated. All glass in the cabinet is original.
The manufacturer’s label is well preserved on the back.
The company Wschód Zadziele was founded in 1921 and produced tubular furniture, also under license from Thonet and Mücke Melder. In 1966, the village of Zadziele, along with a furniture factory, was displaced and flooded with the waters of the artificial Żywieckie Lake.
